About This Map
This map catalogs historic markers, monuments, battlefields, buildings, graves, and other sites tied to the American Revolution across all 46 South Carolina counties. It is a project of the SC Revolutionary War Markers Project, compiled from field research and the project's master site record. New sites are added as they are documented.
Site Types
Every pin on the map carries a color and a symbol for the kind of site it marks. The same symbols appear on the filter buttons beside the map.

SignPrinted or raised-letter signage other than an SCDAH marker, such as a battlefield wayside panel.
MonumentTypically a stone monument.
BuildingAn existing building, with or without signage.
Site AreaA piece of land with no standing structure, such as a battlefield or the site of a vanished fort.

Numbered circles are groups of sites. The number is how many sites sit in that area. Click a circle, or zoom in, and it breaks apart into individual pins.
Click a pin for the site's name and photo. From there, View Details opens its full page with photos, the marker text and location details, and Directions opens turn-by-turn driving directions.
GraveMural
Narrow it down with the panel beside the map: search by name, site number or text, pick a county or colonial district, and switch site types on and off. You can select more than one type at a time.
The list below the map always matches what the map is showing, so you can browse the same sites as cards. "Show all sites" clears every filter.
Understanding Site IDs
Every site carries an ID such as 28-3 or 10PSC25. Reading it tells you where the site is and how it relates to the sites around it.
28-2.2a4
The first number (1–46) is the countynumbered alphabetically: Abbeville = 1, Charleston = 10, Kershaw = 28, York = 46. It's the number that leads each site's ID.
The next part is the specific sitewithin that county. Here, site 2.2 in Kershaw County.
A trailing letter + number is an associated sitenearby: a related sign, monument, or grave grouped under the main site. Here, the 4th associated site of 28-2.2.
